Here at Renew Financial Management our values are at the core of everything we do. We ensure that all our newly appointed colleagues receive training on the values, and we promote the values throughout our offices with wall displays and our Values Award Scheme which is kindly sponsored by our friends at HSBC.
Every week we ask our colleagues to send nominations to our Operations Director Louise of anyone that has shown a commitment to the values. Louise then selects a weekly winner who receives a Values Award card detailing the reason they have been selected as a winner, along with £50 love to Shop vouchers.

No matter how old you are the start of September always seems to subconsciously signify a new start, perhaps having been ingrained in us from our school years.
This September certainly felt like a fresh new start for our Head Office team as not only did we return to the office after 5 months of working from home but we also moved into a brand new office.
At the start of September Renew Financial Management took a 10 year lease at 33 Grey Street, which in 2002 was voted as the ‘best street in the UK’ by Radio 4 listeners.
Grey Street was built in the 1830s and it’s history is steeped with bankers and financiers all working from this prestigious base, it was a natural choice for Renew Financial Management having previously been based on the banks of the River Tyne at Newcastle Business Park.
Louise Potts, Operations Director for Renew Financial Management said “the need for a larger office came about long before the unfortunate arrival of Covid-19, since December 2019 our Head Office function has doubled and we were becoming very shy on space at our original office. Negotiations for the lease began in March and proved timely as the need for social distancing soon became a key factor in our return to work plans. Being in the city centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne makes a perfect base for once we are able to safely welcome visitors again and hopefully in the not so distant future our team can enjoy the city centre leisure and shopping opportunities that we now have on our doorstep”
The Renew Financial Management Head Office function consists of a 10-member Senior Management Team including the Managing Director Colin Potts, Operations Director Louise Potts and General Manager Eden Fahy.
The remaining positions on the SMT are comprised of Mortgage Director, Mortgage Compliance Director, Finance Manager, Customer Experience Manager, Compliance Team Manager and our Remote Compliance & Training Manager who we will be sharing more information about over the coming weeks.
As well as the SMT the Grey Street office is also home to

As well as being a great base for our Renew Life operation, Grey Street is also the perfect location to grow our ever expanding mortgage division Renew Advice. Being in the city centre is perfect for our mortgage clients to attend meetings and we look forward to holding some mortgage open days once it is Covid safe to do so.
In the meantime we continue to work safely from our new home and look forward to many happy years here protecting families, growing futures and creating employment for the North East.

I wanted to let you all know how proud I am of how Renew Life responded to the biggest challenge us, and most of the country, has ever faced – Covid-19 and Lockdown.
Covid-19 certainly provided some challenges to our business and after an initial few days of uncertainty around transferring our entire operation to a work from home model we began to settle into our new way of working with ease and comfort ensuring we were all safe but still able to provide services to our clients and of course employment to our team members.
During lockdown we have been protecting around 500 families per week with Life Insurance and other protection products, but we were mindful that with no return to the office date in mind that we would need to ensure that our teams still felt connected and valued.

- We wanted to ensure that during lockdown we still embraced these values and felt together as team even though we were all apart, and so began our Target £10k mission….
During our 2nd week of working from home the country had begun to show their thanks to the NHS with the weekly doorstep clap ritual, the movement was overwhelming and emotional and as part of our We Care value we felt compelled to show our support to the heroes working on the frontline of the Covid-19 crisis.
We set ourselves a target to raise £10,000 for NHS Charities Together and swiftly communicated our mission to all our teams from Newcastle to Swansea to ensure we were all living our We Deliver value of ensuring we met our target.
During the following weeks we held our We Maintain a Sense of Fun value close to our hearts and began congregating together by the power of Zoom to socialise and participate in concerts, quizzes and bingo! By charging an ‘entry fee’ to the events we began to see our fundraising gather momentum!
Our Remote Compliance Manager, Keith Swinbank gave PT Barnum a run for his money and became our very own Greatest Showman by hosting and comparing every Zoom gathering!
Keith wowed us with his acoustic guitar and singing performances to bingo and quiz master abilities! To show our gratitude to Keith we will be awarding him with one of our Values Ambassadorship roles of We Maintain a Sense of Fun Ambassador which we are looking forward to celebrating as part of our office reunion at some point in the near future.
Alongside our social events, management from Renew Life and our Appointed Representative Smart Protect, donated £1 per family protected which generated hundreds of pounds worth of donations each week.
We began our mission on Easter Monday and in only 4 weeks we raised over our £10,000 target!
We celebrated our achievement, alongside Renew Life’s 2nd birthday with a birthday quiz finale.
The pride of witnessing us ‘Achieve Together’ will stick with me forever and I am truly grateful to work alongside such thoughtful and caring friends.
Long live Team Renew!
